This is an X-ray of a fractured humerus. I'm no radiologist, but I think it's broken.

Did I mention it was a compound fracture?

You know you're from Saskatchewan when people have been paying for their breakfast at the cafeteria by just leaving the change by the cash register. She was annoyed I made her actually come over to make me change.

Bowling with the paramedics and nurses from Emerg.

Signs that a patient may be someone very well known (and annoying).

Oh god. That last one reminds me of when we get recurring residents who are absolute shit-disturbers in the non-awesome way... XD Word gets around.

And that fracture is crazy. Looking at the photo, I can't stop thinking of... of cheap pizza, actually, and I'm not sure why. Something about the color of the gore.

Subcutaneous fat in its yellowish clotty goodness really does look like curdled cheese. Then there's the meat-component. I get you there.

Oww that fracture is nasty.

And a person has to be one heck of a frequent flier to be referred to like that.

Freakin' AWESOME. And shame on me for being worried about you/your guy. Glad you're well. And hey, I think we have the same bottom-pic patient! LOL

Compound fractures are why I do not recommend a) running on a swimming pool deck, or b) playing Red Rover. While I have never broken a bone to date, I was very close witness to both of these... and disturbing they are!
